Hi - My name is Matt and I'm graduate of Grand Valley State University (I majored in Psychology and minored in Philosophy). I've worked with kids for over 5 years and I really do appreciate the relationships I build up with the kiddos and thoroughly enjoy getting to know them, what their interests are, and fostering a positive environment for them to be themselves. I started as a group leader for TEAM 21 which serves as an after school program for kids who are struggling academically and in some cases socially. I made lesson plans, outdoor activities, and oversaw a classroom of about 20 children at West Kellogsville Elementary. I eventually became a site coordinator of Gladiola Elementary, and was in charge of overseeing all 100 children and five adult employees at my site. I spent 2 years at a children’s museum in Michigan, as a play facilitator, engaging with Read more kids and fostering a playful environment and doing projects within our different exhibits. I've also been nanny to a 3 year old for about a year. I've worked primarily with school age children (6-10 years), but I'm comfortable working with children of all ages. I love making art, reading, writing, and enjoy when kids experiment with these activities too!
