When my children were young, I ran my own home based day care (in Rockford, MI.), and always loved the energy, eagerness, and excitement children brought into my home and shared with each other daily. Because I am committed to learning (paraprofessional for 2 large schools systems and later - manager of adult education for a healthcare org.) it was important to me to also offer the young minds, who relied upon my care, opportunities to experience creativity through crafts, do floor exercises together (to music), help in the kitchen, provide adventure via field trips, etc. Certainly, I learned from them - every bit as much as they learned from me, as each child had his / her own innate gifts to share. I am currently "retired", from the world of climbing the corporate ladder. This is why I am seeking to once again engage with children in a caring Read more and mentoring role. It is such a enormous and incredible responsibility to impact a child in a positive and valuable way. And I believe I have so much to give a child / children via my experience, education (degree in communications), skills in crafts, as well as running a clean / healthy household. Even more important - I am a compassionate, caring, honest, and reliable person. Being "middle aged" has its perks! I have a lot of life experiences under my belt - including many years of childcare, homemaking skills, an excellent driving record, knowledgeable about healthy environments, and a fairly flexible schedule. I enjoy and appreciate the role pets have in all our lives and would welcome a position that might include a family pet - particularly a dog. Unfortunately, I seem to have an allergy to most cats. Although I do not hold a CPR, I am willing to acquire one id deemed necessary. I routinely receive an annual flu shot. As a side note: I have also provided companionship and homemaking services to adults, and am currently providing services (part time) to a wonderful lady in her 80's.
