Why do you love being a sitter? I love being a sitter because caring for children brings a kind of joy and purpose that’s hard to put into words. There’s something incredibly meaningful about being part of their world — hearing their thoughts, watching them discover new things, and being someone they feel safe with. I don’t take that trust lightly. I love the small, quiet moments just as much as the playful ones — like reading a bedtime story, or listening to a child tell me about their day. It’s in those moments I feel the most connected and grateful to be doing this. What experience do you have? I’ve been babysitting for several years — for family, close friends, and families in my community. I’ve cared for children from toddlers to middle schoolers, each with their own unique personalities and needs. I’ve helped with schoolwork, cooked meals, handled Read more bedtime routines, and comforted kids through big emotions. Every child I’ve cared for has taught me something new — about patience, creativity, and how to truly listen. I carry those experiences with me, and they continue to shape the way I show up for each family. What skills and training do you have? I’m CPR and First Aid certified, but beyond the formal training, I bring a deep sense of care and attentiveness. I try to meet kids where they are emotionally — whether they’re full of energy or feeling shy or sensitive. I’ve learned how to stay calm in tough moments, how to keep things fun and structured, and how to be a steady presence. I also make a point of keeping open communication with parents, because I know how important it is to feel included and reassured when someone is caring for your child.
