Hello! My name is Kaelie Murdock! I am a 19 year old full time student, turning 20 in the fall. Currently I am on my journey of completing my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. The past 2 years I have attended Schoolcraft College and have been awarded a merit scholarship to complete my studies at Wayne State University! My intent is to remain a full time student during the school year, so I am looking for a babysitting/nannying position during the breaks – primarily the summer months. I have worked with children throughout the majority of my education, and plan to professionally in the future! I have 4 years experience, as I have been babysitting since 2019, with the recent past being focused on working with children with autism. Something I am very proud of is my work as a Direct Line Therapist (DLT) or Behavioral Therapist practicing ABA last year. In this position I helped to change the harmful behaviors of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through in-person interaction and scientific data collection. Some of the responsibilities I have held throughout my child care experience include: 1. Directly engaging with children and their parents in the home setting 2. Providing housekeeping duties that support a nurturing and safe environment that promotes emotional, social and intellectual growth 3. Meal preparation for children, including snacks and refreshments while accounting for individual dietary needs and restrictions 4. Tutoring and helping children complete homework and special assignments supporting academic performance 5. Transportation to events/classes as needed 6. CPR and AED certified A little but about my personality and interests; I love art, film, video games, animals and family. Ideally I am looking to grow close with a family, and for something closer to full time, as well as morning and daytime hours - either M-Thurs or M-F but flexible with the right fit.
