In the past ten years, I've been working as a substitute teacher in the Clarkston Area schools k-12 grades. I watched a two year old girl in Independence twp. Plus finished raising my own boys who are now 22 and 24 studying at the university level. My babysitting experience began at age 14, babysitting in Rochester Hills. My childcare education began at Holly Comunitee Ed through a state sponsored childcare program called Summer Kids which I worked at for three summers. I received a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from UM with additional classes at OCC in Criminal Justice and Psychology to work as a caseworker. I love working with kids, and I have a lot of experience doing just that. As a college student, my job during the school is year is to be a literacy tutor for elementary students. I frequently go to elementary schools and help kid improve their literacy and comprehension skills, and I also work at a family learning institute where I frequently help kids with their homework. Additionally, I often volunteer at the local library tutor center to help students with their homework or just to talk with them while they wait for parents to pick them up. Working with kids has taught me that patience and understanding are very necessary skills to have. Hi! I’m Stacie — I grew up in Clarkston and I’m currently a junior at Michigan State studying psychology and cognitive science. I come back home throughout the year, so I’m available for sitting during school breaks. I’ll be in the area December 12–January 10, and then again from early May through mid-August. I’ve worked with kids for several years, including two years in a daycare and long-term sitting for multiple families. I’m CPR and First Aid certified, have experience with children from 6 months to 13 years old, and I’ve also supported neurodivergent kids. I love planning activities, helping with meals and bedtime, and keeping things running smoothly around the house.
