In the past ten years, I've been working as a substitute teacher in the Clarkston Area schools k-12 grades. I watched a two year old girl in Independence twp. Plus finished raising my own boys who are now 22 and 24 studying at the university level. My babysitting experience began at age 14, babysitting in Rochester Hills. My childcare education began at Holly Comunitee Ed through a state sponsored childcare program called Summer Kids which I worked at for three summers. I received a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from UM with additional classes at OCC in Criminal Justice and Psychology to work as a caseworker. Working with kids has taught me that patience and understanding are very necessary skills to have. I believe that I have these skills, and I can be firm when necessary with children but also know the importance of being caring and gentle with kids. I truly love working kids and find that it is such a rewarding experience. It is so exciting to see kids learning or just having fun.
