Disclaimer: I will be in Boulder, CO until early August, after which point my availability will be very open and flexible. I am unable to adequately reflect my circumstances in the availability section, so please note that the availability details listed will be applicable starting AFTER August 1. Sorry for any inconvenience! Thank you for your consideration! Hi! My name is Jordyn and I am serving as an AmeriCorps member with the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County. In anticipation of my return to Michigan at the end of my service term, I am actively searching for full-time, in-home childcare (babysitting and/or nannying) positions beginning in early August. I am hoping to find a position that will allow me to apply skills and background gained through a range of experiences working with youth and adolescents of all ages in educational, recreational, and wellness settings. A little bit about Read more me: I come from a large family in which I find myself to be one of 11 children - smack dab in the middle. I have 4 younger siblings, ages 6, 9, 10 & 16, and have played a significant role in raising them up until moving to Boulder this past September. I am currently working as an AmeriCorps program coordinator at Angevine Middle School where I spend most of my time coordinating academic, social-emotional, and enrichment activities for middle and high school students. Prior to moving to Boulder, I attended the University of Michigan where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Biopsychology, Cognition & Neuroscience. During my undergraduate study, I took several classes on adolescent psychology and development. I also spent a significant amount of time volunteering with local organizations including Mott Children's Hospital where I served as a nursing volunteer in the pediatric cardiology wing, a multicultural preschool where I served as a teaching assistant, Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children where I served as a camp volunteer with children with special needs, and Junior Achievement where I taught financial literacy to grade-school aged children. Through these experiences, I have become confident in my abilities to care for and work with children of all ages in a holistic manner. As a babysitter, I will strive to incorporate elements of imaginative play, education, playful learning, as well as continued or new exposure to things such as art, music, outdoors, sports, games, etc.
