Hello! My name is Makenzie. I am looking to help families in need of a weekend or weeknight babysitter. I currently attend School for Social Work in Ann Arbor and I graduated from U of M with degrees in both Psychology and Spanish. I have a lot of experience working with children in numerous settings as a full-time nanny for three summers, as a camp counselor, as a mentor to children in Detroit, and as a research assistant in the Psychology Department as I worked with infants and toddlers in my research. Additionally, I am the oldest of four, so I have a lot of experiences babysitting many different ages and I have experience caring for multiple children at the same time. Lastly, I have worked with several nonprofits. I worked with children to calm them before they went into questioning with police regarding allegations of abuse. I volunteered at Read more a children's hospital where I distributed books to children on the 12th floor every Friday afternoon. I was an intern at a residential facility and provide therapy to adolescents. Currently, I work as an intern with Head Start providing care to preschoolers. I would describe myself as very kind, energetic, and positive. I love being outdoors, playing sports, and creating fun activities outside for children. I have my own car, a good driving record, and I more than happy to help with laundry, light housekeeping, and errands. I also am more than happy to read to children, aide with homework/summer workbooks, or tutor in certain subjects.
