Hello! My name is Amanda, let me tell you a bit about myself. I have enjoyed several years of employment and volunteering experience working with children. I am also a big animal lover so pets are a plus! (I have a cat and a turtle myself) I am a graduate from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a masters degree in social work. Throughout my education, I have taken several classes related to child development as well as child psychology. I am currently employed through Birmingham schools as a director of school age community programming and assisting with the Pre-K preschool program of my school. I worked for Rochester Community Schools School-Age Care program for over 4 years, two of which as lead caregiver creating programming for school age children as well as dealing with disciplinary issues, communication with parents, and working with school staff such as social workers Read more and special-ed teachers. I worked for the Rochester schools summer day-camp program for 3 summers creating programming and enrichment for my classroom of 2nd grade students. I have two years of experience volunteering in the children's program of a local domestic violence shelter providing child care for the parents in shelter, creating activity plans, and providing emotional support. I have experience babysitting and full time nannying for multiple school aged children in the past, as well as regularly assisting with child care for family members. I am also experienced with providing regular care for a variety of pets. I am looking to find part time babysitting opportunities on weekends of weekday evenings.
