I am a retired Radiological Technologists by trade with over 25 years of experience, a Medical Assistant with 5 years of of experience. I have worked as a caregiver in my late teens and more recently worked at a local nursing home and for a private home care company in which I provided care for a married couple. I am a mother of four boys ranging in age 15-25 years old, grandmother of 3, a wife of just under 28 years, and a Christian. Recently I decided to step away from the medical profession, (call it retire, but I have no retirement income) but since I am only 52 years old I would still like to work part-time. Caring for others has always been what I have found to be truly rewarding throughout my my life. Be it at work or at home, for my parents or grandparents, or the Read more couple I worked for that I helped to get ready for bed at night. Sometimes I was paid and sometimes not, but the time spent helping/caring for individuals, the stories shared and the fact that I was able to help make someone's life a little more easy and pleasurable was always rewarding. I have always been able to maintain the level of respect that is necessary when providing companion care, with the confidentiality that must be kept.
