I have loved being around kids since I was a curious kid myself! Kids are full of questions, innocence, and some serious imagination! They're quite inspiring, if you ask me. I think it's important to be considerate to the needs of a child, while maintaining the parents' rules and boundaries. I am always sensitive to the fact that every family is different, and how families function differs from home to home. Parents have different parenting styles, faiths, values, and boundaries. I highly respect parents' guidelines, because they are trying to make their children the best they can be, and it is my responsibility to assure them that they can trust the same of me! I have experience babysitting for 3 families, and I worked at the Duluth Children's Museum back in fall/winter of 2013/2014. One family I babysat for was a neighbor across the street, an 8yr old boy who's Read more an only child. I babysat him for his father during after-schools and nights. I also watched the dog during those evenings. Another family I babysat for has 3 children- at the time, the kids were a 2yr old girl still in diapers, a rambunctious 6 year old boy, and an autistic 10 year old boy. They were quite a handful, but were great kids! I did a lot of cleaning as extra help for the parents because they were both working parents and had a lot on their plates. My most recent experience was babysitting for a mother in the process of divorce. She had me babysit her three kids, two girls ages 8 and 9, and her son who is 2. I have wanted to be a trauma therapist for children, or to open a foster home for at risk kids. The possibilities are endless, and I'm excited to explore that more!
