Hello my name is Mary. I am an experienced Early childhood Teacher that has been working in the field for over 25 years. I am currently employed and have been working in a childhood center in St.Paul for the past 13 years. During this time, I took a break to work in a childcare center located in a High School setting, providing care for the children of young teenage Mothers while they attended classes. I have current certifications in First Aid, CPR, Shaken Baby and SIDS training. I have my Associates Degree in Early Childhood ED. I am the single Mother to one son, who is soon to be 15, starting High School and preparing to get his Driver's license! Yikes!! As my son has grown and become more independent, pursuing his own interests and socializing more, I have more time available and have been looking at supplementing my income Read more with some type of part-time position, especially with college looming in the next few years! I am seeking occasional or Date night babysitting positions. These jobs would be ideal for our situation, providing flexibility and availability which is necessary for me as a single parent. I am excited to meet new people and help provide a service for other parents in which they would have piece of mind to take a little time out for themselves to enjoy their own interests, hobbies, run errands more efficiently or enjoy socializing with other adults and friends. Some things I enjoy are reading, swimming, (love water parks!), traveling, especially if it involves sitting on a beach, ocean side, museums, crossword puzzles, cooking and just hanging out with family and friends. I am not uncomfortable with pets but i do have allergies to cats and dogs as well as many other environmental allergies as does my son who was lucky in inheriting this from me, he suffers from extensive food allergies and severe asthma also. Needless to say I have much experience and extensive knowledge in caring for individuals with these health concerns. As I previously mentioned I work full time, Monday-Friday until 6 P.M. I have weekends off. I work with Infants currently and have done so for a great portion of my years working in Early Childhood Ed, however I have worked with all ages from infant to school age children. I love watching children grow and explore, helping to guide them as they develop and experience their environment , they take nothing for granted, it's all new to them! I hope we have the chance to meet soon!
