I became a care giver when I was about 13 years old. I started babysitting my neighbors children at ages as young as 2 as well as babysitting my parents friends kids. My first legit care-giving duty was when I became a personal care assistant at age 16 to a 3 year old disabled boy. This was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had in life. I loved caring for him and loved knowing that I was a part of making his life easier and more comfortable for him to have a great upbringing and quality of life. Another experience with children was my job at a daycare center called Kids Haven. I worked as an Aide in the toddler rooms where I would help prepare breakfast, lunch and snacks, as well as changing diapers, putting on sunscreen, getting the kids ready for nap time and also Read more helping the main teachers with there daily lessons/activities. Ive always been very drawn to being a care taker ever since I can remember. My most recent job was as a nanny for a family of 10, which included 8 kids. I was the primary nanny for the youngest 5 ages ranging from 18months-12, not only was this an awesome experience for me but I also became extremely close to the family and even went on a 10 day vacation with them to California this spring! What I love most about it is not only how rewarding it is but also the responsibility and maturity that you quickly adapt. Throughout the years my part in being a care taker has given me a lot of patience and has taught me how to handle situations in the best possible way. I hope to further my career one day by becoming a nurse :)
