Personal experience: I come from a big family, so my life has always been chaotic and fast-paced. As the oldest, I cared and babysat for my siblings: they are not between 10-19. Growing up I’ve helped to change diapers and help feed them, so poopy diapers are nothing new. Paid Experience: I had the pleasure of working as a mental health technician at Fraser. In this role, I worked one on one with kids between the ages of 2-7 who were on the autism spectrum. The main task were to support and encourage their skills in sharing, communication, and boundaries through play-based therapy. In addition, I helped with their personal care: feeding, changing diapers, and washing hands. In my second paid job, I was a babysitter for a family with 2 boys (2 and 1) months graduating from college. Research/Paid Experience: I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a focus in child development. As an undergrad, I was a research assistant for a child development lab primarily working with children (6 months-3 years). After graduating, I transitioned into a paid role that assists with cognitive, motor and language development in children 6 months - 3 years of age. I have knowledge in child development and can assist with your child’s developing skills especially their young years.
