I grew up caring for siblings (up to 20 years younger). Also much volunteer work with children - Big Brothers, and volunteer child care worker at battered women's shelter. I was the first male volunteer ever accepted and cleared to serve at that organization - and received a Governor's award for my work there. Former Personal Trainer. I have very recently passed DHS backgound checking (for my job working with chemical dependency clients). Also have current Red Cross First Aid & CPR certification (as a former EMT with a rural volunteer fire department, I have experience in dealing with emergencies). Current childcare experience is mostly with my beloved six-year-old grandson. He is my best audience, but I don't see him quite often enough. I love kids, and they usually like me.
