Hi there! My name is Rebecca and I’d love to connect with your family. With a background in the arts, youth education/development, and mental health counseling, I have a wealth of experience that enriches my approach to childcare. I am currently finishing my graduate degree in counseling at UMN and am seeking occasional and/or part-time work. I grew up in Kentucky as a sibling to two younger sisters and began babysitting in middle school. My journey continued in New York, where I studied classical voice, continued babysitting, and also managed a tutoring center. When I moved to Minnesota to continue my studies, I began working as a teaching artist and directed arts programming for children ages 1-18. Over the past 15+ years of working with kids and teens, I’ve kept my love of young people and have grown in my understanding of childhood development. I approach relationships with young people Read more as an opportunity to build connection and support their development and goals. I also prioritize fun when babysitting! In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, running, cooking, hiking, singing, and exploring the Twin Cities. One of the reasons I like spending time with young people is due to their natural energy - I can keep going with them all day!
