I am a mom; I raised 4 kids myself, one of which on the Autism Spectrum. I had babysat from the age of 10, for three boys, for about 5 years. I also worked in a treatment center for adolescents with mild mental health issues for three years and was responsible for their arts/crafts recreation. I have a passion for creating schedules and daily plans that implement creativity, independence and learning. I feel arts and crafts are important as it gives kids a chance to express themselves, learn different skills, and learn things about themselves as they create. Outside play puts kids in the environment responsible for much of their existence and gives them lots of much needed fresh air and exercise! Reading is also very much a top priority for me. A solid plan is important for kids, and I do encourage their input about what they want to Read more do and/or learn. I also feel teaching respect for self and others, as well as the world around us are pivotal parts of raising responsible and capable adults. Cleaning, pets and cooking are all something that are second nature to me. And they are all great learning experiences!
