I am available for short notice or occasional positions. I work part time at the Minneapolis Children's Hospital as a security guard, and while I get to interact with children quite a bit in that position, I found myself wishing I could spend more time with individual kids and develop personal relationships with them. Kids bring so much energy and life into an environment, even while going through things that most adults never have to experience, and that is simply amazing to me. I have two younger brothers within a few years of me, and a younger sister that is 18 months old. My adopted brother growing up had a few cognitive differences, including FAS and ADHD, which gave me quite a bit of experience with how those conditions affect older children and how to react to impulsive behavior. My youngest brother has severe food allergies, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, esophageal Read more encephalitis, and Crohn's, which gives me a lot of experience with dietary restrictions and allergy management. I also have familial experience with diabetes. I pride myself in being able to stay cool in extreme situations. I have work experience with both children and adults under immense pressure and have found that it's immensely important to be both consistent and empathetic in order to deescalate. If you choose to hire me as a babysitter, I can guarantee that I will work with your parenting style to ensure consistency in discipline while you're out of the house. It's also very important to me to develop a personal relationship with the children under my care. I understand that a new babysitter can be frightening and uncomfortable for a child. I make a conscious effort to learn the activities that the child enjoys and to see situations from their point of view to truly connect with their personalities and build trust between myself and the child. I appreciate your consideration of me for the immense responsibility of caring for your child or children.

Before coming she asked many questions to make sure she could properly care for our daughter. This made me feel very comfortable having her in our home since this was our first babysitter for our 23 month old daughter. She offered to help do housework which we appreciated. I feel very lucky to have had such a kind caring person looking after our daughter for the first time and hope she is available for any further babysitting needs. Both of us were running late getting home and she was very understanding about. After returning home we found out she had helped our 6 year old daughter with her homework even though we hired her and said she only need to care for the one child she went above and beyond our expectations! I would not hesitate to refer her to a friend or family searching for a trustworthy quality person to care for their child!
