I grew up taking care of my three younger siblings. I do not have any professional experience with babysitting, however, I've helped watch many cousins and nieces/nephews. I currently work with children in after school programs. This has helped me to "reconnect" with children. I really enjoy the idea that I can play a role in influencing or helping children grow. What makes me unique as a babysitter is that I am middle aged and am looking to do work that has more meaning to my life. I bring with me a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I love to dance and Zumba. I can sing, but can't sight read. I love music, but can't play any instruments. I love to cook. I am a nerd and love fantasy and sci-fi (especially Dungeons and Dragons). I think of myself as stern and orderly, as children need that guidance from Read more adults. But I try not to stifle creativity and curiosity. I believe that each child has their own needs. One may always need to be active while another just needs the comfort of knowing you are there, if they need you. I prefer to see what each child needs and then go from there.
