I am a mature woman who has raised 2 daughters who have presented me with 5 wonderful grandchildren. Of course that is not paid child care experience, but it is experience. The paid child care experience comes in the form of work experience as a pediatric occupational therapist. I love to see a child develop, grow, and thrive to be the best that they can be. I am an artsy/craftsy type and prefer to see children do fine motor activities that are real and 3 dimensional rather than on a computer screen. In addition, I have skills obtained in taking several classes in a therapy called MNRI. These techniques can improve behavior, fine and gross motor skills, bowel/bladder continence, cognition, sleep and more. Not that I would be during therapy the entire time I am with a child, but it can be incorporated at no extra cost. Although mature, I Read more am still in good physical condition. A nanny/babysitter/PCA position would allow me the opportunity to work one-on-one with a client without the hassles of dealing with all the paperwork and time restraints imposed by insurance companies that is involved in working in a clinic.
