H! My name is Vanessa Brown. Im 22 years old and am currently an education student at Concordia University in St. Paul. I have been babysitting and working with kids since I was 18. Currently I am working at in an elementary after school program in Golden Valley. In the past I have worked as an early morning nanny for a family with twins where I woke them up, helped them get ready, eat breakfast, make sure they had everything for school and drove them to school. I have also been an after school transportation nanny where I drove a 13 year old home from school and made sure he arrived at home safely. At the school I work at right now I work with ages 4-10 and I take them outside, play with them to get some energy out, bring them inside for a snack and help them do Read more homework, and make sure they get to their parents safely. I absolutely adore working with children of all ages, my education program is for students from 5-12th grade but seeing the preschoolers after school is a highlight of my day everyday. When it comes to newborns and toddlers I have a niece and nephew who are 2 and 4 and I frequently babysit them, at least once a week and they are just about my favorite people on this planet. Different ages offer different experiences and call for different techniques but I have yet to meet a kid in any age that I didn't like. After winter break I will be student teaching at a high school in St. Paul and working at the after school program but because I am student teaching I am in need of a little more income.
