I am currently studying Early Childhood Education and minoring in Special Education (SPED) and Psychology, with the long-term goal of becoming an Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA) therapist. I’m the oldest of five children, and have been babysitting as far as I can remember. I have experience with special needs, both in my personal life with my little sister, and through high school training. I took a course called Peer to Peer, where we worked one on one and focused on motor development and behavioral regulation. I’m a skilled cook and housekeeper, and often meal prep for my families. I love babysitting because kids have such active imaginations and I love seeing how they view the world. Every kid is different, and I enjoy getting to know each one.

I love building a big sister type of relationship with kids. (I.E Someone they can come to for hard conversations or advice, or even just to make them laugh.) I find kids hilarious, and feel like in the past I've learned from them just as much as they learned from me. When I worked my first all day summer camp, it was a lot, but I grew so much from it and walked away with a bunch of meaningful memories I won't forget. I then moved in to after school care, which I loved, because it was what those kids looked forward to everyday, and I had a lot of fun providing all these different games and activities to do. Through all of my child care jobs, I've learned how to handle tough moments, emergencies and I even learned that I love to color and watch Bluey. (I am also RedCross CPR certified and First Aid certified due to my previous lifeguarding job this past summer).

Why do you love being a sitter? I love being a sitter because I genuinely enjoy working with children and being someone they can feel comfortable and safe around. I love getting to know their personalities, keeping them entertained, and helping make their day a little easier for both them and their parents. I also enjoy creating fun activities, playing games, and being involved in their routines while making sure they feel cared for and supported. What experience do you have? I have experience working with children in both childcare and behavioral settings. I worked at a child development center where I cared for children, helped with daily routines, supervised activities, and created a safe and positive environment. I also have experience as a Registered Behavior Technician, where I worked one-on-one with children and gained experience with communication, behavior support, patience, and individualized care. These experiences have taught me how to work with children of different ages, personalities, and needs. What skills and training do you have? I am a Certified Registered Behavior Technician and have training and experience in child development, behavior support, communication, and maintaining a safe environment for children. I am patient, responsible, dependable, and comfortable handling different situations that may come up while caring for children. I’m also comfortable following parents’ instructions and routines and communicating with parents about their child’s day.

I have been working at a day care for the past three years with ages that range from 4-12. I work now as a swim instructor from ages 2-10. My major is social work and want to be in an elementary school but am comfortable with all ages! I am very passionate with working with kids and would love to find a family to babysit/nanny!

I want to be a pediatrician when I get older, so I have always enjoyed working with kids and caring for them. I love getting to meet new kids and their families and having fun.
