Hi there!!! My name is Anna, and I have just recently moved to Knoxville to complete an internship at Dolly Children’s! This past May before moving, I graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Science. With my degree and internship experience, I hope to become a Certified Child Life Specialist, supporting kiddos and their families in coping with the ups and downs of hospitalization! I have always loved caring for others and feeling like I am directly impacting their lives, and this occupation will allow me to do just that for not only vulnerable children, but their families and the people that mean the most to them too. Hi! I'm Alissa, and I love working with children. I have 5+ years of childcare experience, including caring for families with 3 or more kids, and I'm infant and child CPR certified. I'll be working weekends at BJC St. Louis' trauma center and I am looking to fill out my weekdays a little bit more. I have a reliable car, and manage my time well. I'm also very tidy and happy to help around the house, but I also love being active and having fun with kids (I love crafts, hikes, and anything outdoors myself) I'm an animal lover (especially dogs!) and always aim to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children.

I am currently an undergraduate student at Mizzou studying Health Sciences. I have been babysitting for various families for the past 7 years. For the past three years I have been teaching swim lessons to children. Additionally, I have been a lifeguard for the past 6 years and have my Lifeguard CPR and first aide certification.

I love building a big sister type of relationship with kids. (I.E Someone they can come to for hard conversations or advice, or even just to make them laugh.) I find kids hilarious, and feel like in the past I've learned from them just as much as they learned from me. When I worked my first all day summer camp, it was a lot, but I grew so much from it and walked away with a bunch of meaningful memories I won't forget. I then moved in to after school care, which I loved, because it was what those kids looked forward to everyday, and I had a lot of fun providing all these different games and activities to do. Through all of my child care jobs, I've learned how to handle tough moments, emergencies and I even learned that I love to color and watch Bluey. (I am also RedCross CPR certified and First Aid certified due to my previous lifeguarding job this past summer).
