Hello! My name is Rebekah (or Miss Bekkah by the kiddos). Back in the day, shortly after high school, I stumbled upon an ad in the paper for a temporary position at Head Start. I was beyond ecstatic when I was hired in and began working as a "shadow" for a 4 year old boy who had trouble with emotional regulation. He quickly stole a piece of my heart, as he was a solid little thing and would often knock me over as he came running in for a hug. Once he moved on to Kindergarten, my superiors found a way to keep me on for the following year as an aide. While working there, I earned my Child Development Associate and proceeded to fill many different roles over the years (lead teacher, assistant teacher, aide, substitute, program manager) within Head Start, and the public school district for over ten Read more years until I moved on to a different career. Since then, I have continued doing the occasional babysitting job. I have worked with a wide variety of children (including twins and triplets!) and am comfortable with all ages. Because I also watch my nieces and nephews I have a dedicated room set up to model a real pre-k classroom... but I do have many games and activities for all ages. I believe kids need an appropriate place and time to be loud and messy, and I am well-equipped to roll with the punches. However, I also believe in following the parents lead in how they wish to raise their children regarding rules/routines, so let's have a chat first so we're all on the same page!
