At age ten I was already teaching my step mother to read, at a college level in reading myself, I was able to patiently teach her beyond her own level of reading (from fifth grade to eight grade). I had became a caregiver whenever my grandmother was diagnosed with a mental illness which impaired some of her thinking and therefore some of behavioral choices. Each of these family members continuously complimented me for "not making them feel any different than any other person." After this, helping my younger sisters with daily homework was a breeze!
