I started babysitting when I was 15 years old and worked a part time job. My first babies were 19 months old and 10 months old. I watched them three nights a week from 5pm to 4am because the mothers worked at night. I currently Nanny up to 8 children at a time from the ages of 6 to 13. I am First Aid Certified until Feb 2017 where I will need to renew. I have an Associates Degree in Drafting Technologies with a major in Mechanical and a minor in Architectural. My past jobs include over 9 years Customer Service Representative experience for small companies and even a major family resort, Security Officer, working as a Details Draftsman in Mechanical Drafting for the worlds second largest steel manufactures, and much more in between. The children I sit for now love when I bring arts and crafts for them to Read more do. I'm a very hands on sitter meaning that I love for children to explore colors and working with their hands and learning that they can make or do anything with arts and crafts as long they use their imagination. I love the outdoors so anything that can be made from nature is a big deal for me. I enjoy getting outside and exploring different bugs and plants and trees with the kids and teaching them about everything. Outdoor activities are my favorite activities to do with children. From Tye-Dying tshirts, collecting different leaves and making mobiles, learning about different types of lizards and frogs and other reptiles, the children I sit for see these as fun and interesting things to do when they're bored. But in all reality, I enjoy opening their minds to new things and seeing their faces light up when they can run back to their families and say "guess what I learned today?" To me, a child who is excited to run back to mom and dad or whoever and say with such passion that they've learned something new, is such a rewarding experience for me. It's all about teaching children without them thinking they are in a 'classroom' type of environment.
