My name is Matthew Schloegel, i am a student here at ole miss and i am from Gulfport, Mississippi. I grew up the second eldest in a family of five to both working parents. By the age of 12 i was almost a full-time babysitter whether it was for my younger brother and two sisters or for my three dogs. When i turned fourteen i became friends with a guy in my class and became close with his mother who had been diagnosed with leukemia while he was still a baby, over the years the illness worsened but i was always there as much as i could until it was at his home almost every weekend, she is still alive today and i visit her regularly. I am third eldest out of my fourteen cousins and see them often. I work as a lifeguard every summer since the summer of Read more 2012, in which i learned c.p.r. and lent basic aid. As a lifeguard, I watched over swim team in the morning with swimmers from the ages of 4 years old to 16 years old, after swim team the various members of the Gulfport Yacht Club ranging from all ages, and sailing team with sailors/sailing instructors from 8 to 21 years old. I have volunteered at the gulf coast veterans hospital 3 times and the st. vincent de paul society soup kitchen twice. I have babysat children in the past of four different family friends with 1-2 children regularly since i was 14 years old until present day. I was an officer for the junior youth assembly which required mentoring 7-9th graders on 3 separate school trips. I was raised catholic and attend church. I can cook well and comfortable driving.
