I am currently caring for a 27 year old who is non-verbally autistic. I also care for a 23 year old who had a major brain injury as a child and is now in a wheelchair. I love spending time with them and helping them go on with daily tasks. It makes me feel good to see them happy and managing life easier. When I'm with them I am teaching them various things such as reading, writing, math to communication skills. At the same time I am responsible for their everyday necessities such as making sure they eat and using the bathroom as much as they should. It's very rewarding in it's own ways.
