I've worked with kids in one way or another since 2008. My main reason for making myself available on this platform is to help parents of children with special needs find reliable, worry-free child care. Having worked in the Behavioral Therapy (ABA) world for over a decade, I know how hard it can be to find child care for a kiddo with atypical behaviors; and that it's against the rules for most companies who provide therapy services to also provide babysitting. My experience includes: Autism, ADHD, ODD, Down Syndrome, OCD, anxiety, dyslexia, dysgraphia, aggression, sensory processing, deaf/hearing impaired, learning disabilities, and children in need of general behavioral shaping. I am a Certified Behavior Technician, semi-fluent in ASL (American sing language), NC Early Educator Certified, and CPR/First Aid trained. I currently work with kids on the spectrum and I thought it would be nice to offer families some relief in the Read more sense of knowing they can leave their, not disabled, but differently able, children with an experienced caregiver. It's a full time job to be a parent and I believe it is so important to be able to get away and TAKE A BREAK! If anyone has seen it all, it's me! If you think your child is too difficult to leave with someone, let me prove you wrong! Having gone into dozens of homes for home therapy, I am very comfortable doing so for babysitting as well. Children with special needs have my heart and I am a natural when it comes to caring for them in a therapeutic, creative way. *I have my own materials, reinforcers, fidgets, and a plethora of sensory satisfying toys. *My rates are high for a reason-but please reach out if needed.
