I have long worked with groups of children, creating fun activities to do together, as well as stimulating lessons. I've worked as a Summer Activity Assistant Leader with the VA Parks and Rec. Department, co-managing a group of 40 elementary age children; with Student U in Durham as a Summer middle school teacher, where I generated lesson plans engaging enough to hold the attention of rising 8th graders; with TABLE in Carrboro as a SnackChef shift leader, working with groups of elementary-aged children in food preparation and nutrition lessons; and with the "I Know I Can" Summer Academies Program in Palestine as a College Counselor to 50 high school students. I have also worked with individual students as a tutor and mentor, at Florence Elementary School in Greensboro, NC and with Student U in Durham.
