Hi! My name is Charli and I have been working with kids as long as I've been able to work! At 16 I began working at daycare/afterschool care (PreK-Middle) I grew up attending and continued there throughout my high school years. I also took many opportunities during that time to further my experience, by volunteering to assist classes at my dance company and also to be a student assistant at my high school. Since then, I have been attending NC State University, studying Technology and Engineering Education. Throughout this time I have continued my passion for taking care of children, nannying for a few different families, with kids aging from kindergarten to middle school. I also continued to return to my hometown daycare during the summers and eventually rose into an Assitant Director role, which was a much more involved role of planning day-to-day activities, keeping track of certain finances, Read more and directing the junior employees. I am currently taking a break before finishing my degree and feel that getting back to doing what makes me happiest is what is most important for me right now, and I hope that is providing love, support, assistance, and guidance for your home and more importantly your children! I believe childcare is one of the most vital tasks any person can take on, and I take no greater pride than when I can help a child better themselves. When I reflect on what accomplishments in my life I'm proudest of, I never consider any of the successes that concern me more than those I accomplish in the service of others. I think of every time one of my kids has run off the school bus to tell me the test that we worked so hard to study and prepare for was a success. I think of every time I was young and struggled with not knowing how to handle my big feelings (as I also suffer and have a great understanding of generalized anxiety and ADHD), and how I have given children I work with steps and methods that I have learned to deal with these feelings and then witness as they begin to practice them on their own. I am so proud of the impact I have made on the lives I have, and I'm even prouder of the impact they have had on my own.
