Hi! My name is Kissiah Hampton! I’m a 19 year old student studying at Central Piedmont Community College with the intentions of transferring to UNCC next spring. I have always loved working with kids! While attending a college prep high school where academics were rigorous, my mom feared that having a job would cause my grades to fall; however, babysitting became a helpful alternative givien its flexible hours. At 16 years old I began babysitting for two families; one with an 8 month old and 4 year old, and the other with a 9 month old and a 12 year old. Right off the bat, I fell in love with the kids who made me feel as thought I was not “working”. Going forward, I began to babysit all through high school, and loved every minute of it. I have learned that each child is different with their very own Read more distinctive personalities. Getting to know a child is my very first priority. Regardless of age, it’s important to me to be able to understand them to the best of my ability. Not only does that ensure that I can better cater to the child, but also ensures a line of trust between them. I want them to always feel comfortable and safe, which are the two most important building blocks to trust. I am CPR certified with great attention to detail and excellent micromanagement skills.
