Hi! My name is Kathryn and I recently graduated from Davidson with a Psychology major! I love working with kids of all abilities and I did quite a bit of research on reducing the stigma of developmental disabilities while in college. I have experience with all ages and have Wilderness Advanced First Aid, CPR, Safe Sanctuaries, and Sexual Abuse Prevention Certifications. I have listed some of my experience below: Camp Burnt Gin, Head Residential Counselor Summer 2014 • Provided overnight care, supervision, and ADLs for campers with special healthcare needs ages 7-25. • Organized emergency plans and supervised a team of 5 counselors while serving as liaison between program staff and cabin counselors. • Completed paperwork and provided immediate decisions in times of medical need (seizure, injury, or illness). GROW Day Camps, Site Director Summer 2013 • Oversaw all aspects of daily camp life, weekly registration, morning check-in for 60+ Read more campers and 12 counselors • Helped resolve and mediate disciplinary issues between campers. • Assisted high-school aged counselors with daily activities, art projects, and religion-based learning sessions. • Provided daily health care for campers and counselors such as administering daily medications, basic first aid, triage of illnesses and injuries.
