Teaching, learning, and helping others are all experiences that I am very passionate about. Being able to work as a sitter would be the perfect opportunity to engage with those passions. Since graduating in 2013 with my Bachelors of Fine Arts from UNC Asheville, I have spent my time either teaching or working as a caregiver. Before moving to the triangle, I spent three years as a one-on-one caregiver for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Then after moving here early last summer, I began working as an Art Instructor at a day program for individuals with disabilities. Working within that community was an extremely rewarding experience. Then in May, I started working the ArtsCenter Summer Camp as an Art Instructor, teaching kids ranging from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade. It has truly been an amazing and fun experience. Furthermore, I am CPR certified and have had First Aid training. I Read more believe that working as a caregiver has its parallels to being a sitter, and I loved working as a caregiver. But, what truly solidified my transition into sitting was spending time at the ArtsCenter. It has been a privilege to work there. The kids are brilliant and I have learned a lot from the way they view the world. I hope to continue that experience as a professional sitter. In the end, my goal has always been for everyone to have fun, be safe, and hopefully learn some things along the way.
