Meet Avery

I am a student-athlete at Duke with many years of childcare experience with kids of all ages! I am a super creative person and love the outdoors; my favorite activities with kids include going to the park/spending time outside, arts and crafts, imaginary games, etc. I babysat for families in my neighborhood all throughout high school, with kids aged 2-10, and up to 3 kids at a time. For the past three summers I have been a counselor at a wilderness sleep away camp in Maine, guiding girls between the ages of 11-16 on up to three week long backpacking and canoeing trips, and leading fun camp activities (karaoke, Zumba, paddle boarding, fairy house building, slip and slide, etc). I am a certified Wilderness First Responder (one level down from EMT- includes CPR, Heimlich, and EpiPen certifications) as well as a lifeguard. My other hobbies include reading, painting, hiking, and Read more music, and I also am a Division 1 rower with racing experience at the international level. I look forward to meeting your family!
