Hi! My name is Makenzie and I’m an Occupational Therapy Graduate student at ECU! I love spending time with kiddos and I hope to work with them after graduation in school or outpatient clinics! I have experience babysitting in family homes, after-school daycare, coaching gymnastics/cheer to young children, and volunteering at elementary schools. I’m hoping to find a part-time babysitting/nannying position to balance during school to continue growing my experience working with children. Why do you love being a sitter? I love being a sitter because I genuinely enjoy working with children and being a positive influence in their lives. Building relationships with families and watching children develop their personalities and skills is incredibly rewarding to me. What experience do you have? I have several years of childcare experience through my grandmother’s daycare in Bertie County. For the past two years, I have been compensated for assisting with daily childcare responsibilities, including supervising children, changing diapers, preparing meals and snacks, organizing activities, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. I have worked with children of different ages and have been involved in childcare for much of my life. What skills and training do you have? I have strong communication, patience, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. I am experienced in supervising children, preparing meals, managing daily routines, and creating engaging activities that encourage learning and creativity. As a Psychology major, I am also developing a deeper understanding of child development, behavior, and effective communication. I'm a recent Highschool Graduate who just moved to Greenville for a gap semester!
