I have always had a desire to work with children, and started out by teaching a young Sunday School class at age 12. Throughout my life I have held many positions as caregiver for children ranging in ages birth to 12 years. I taught middle school for three years in a private Christian Academy, where my talents of art, music and overall education was utilized on a daily basis. After the school closed, I ran an indoor play facility, Calling All Kids, for three years until the owners decided not to continue. At this time, I also home schooled my youngest son, feeling that he would be better in this environment until he reached high school. I have worked in retail for the past 13 years, but have continued to teach the preschool children at church, and work in the nursery on Sunday mornings. I am a grandmother to two Read more seven year old boys, one who is autistic, so I have much knowledge of the spectrum, and participate in therapy with him on a weekly basis. I have recently been laid off due to cutbacks, and have considered going back into this field. I am happy working with children and feel that I would be a benefit to those who would consider me as a caregiver for their child(ren).
