Hello! My name is Alaura and I am a student at UNCW who is looking for a family to babysit, housesit, and or petsit for while I am home on summer break! I am 19 years old looking to make some money for schooling ! I am in school to become a nurse and am currently at the end of my sophomore year. I have been babysitting since I was at least twelve years old. I have younger siblings that I have helped take care of, one being 4 years younger than me and the other being 17 years younger than me. I have babysat all ages of children, beginning with infants and ranging up to children 13 years of age. I have also tutored and taught my siblings and other children. I enjoy helping children with their homework and helping them learn basic life skills. I also have experience Read more with house/ pet sitting. I worked at an animal hospital for two years and love caring for animals. I am able to bathe, medicate, monitor, clip nails, apply preventatives, and more for your fluffy friends! I also have a lot of experience with training animals. My mother used to breed and show Dalmatians, which I later followed in her footsteps with the showing aspect. I do not have much experience with just housesitting, but I do enjoy helping out around the house (with permission) when I am babysitting or petsitting. I have experience in working with the older population, as well as the immunocompromised. I have cared for my grandparents and family-friends in times of need. This included monitoring air intake and oxygen levels, making sure they got their oxygen when they needed it, ensuring that medications are taken on time, and observing their wellbeing. I am comfortable with helping the disabled or impaired doing other things as well. I have also watched a child with diabetes, where I had to check and monitor his blood sugar and react to the levels accordingly. Last year, I was involved in a near-fatal car accident. I broke many bones, but most importantly, I broke my femur bone. This is the biggest and most important bone in the body. I have made tremendous progress in healing and have no negative effects at the moment other than a slight limp and a little pain on some days. I am very grateful to still be alive. I want this to be known for any family that I care for, but I also want them to know that this does not affect my nurturing, caring abilities. I do not have any physical limitations that I know of, other than it being difficult for me to run fast :).
