I have a degree in Early Childhood education and special education covering birth through third grade. I nannied throughout my schooling and decided i like working for private families better. I consider helping care for young children such a privilege. Their joy and newness to the world keeps me in my own state of wonder and joy. I love helping young children meet their milestones, grow, feel safe and most importantly have fun! I have extreme experience in caring for newborns through middle school age children, upward of 25 years now. I also have a vast wealth of knowledge about development. I have worked with newborns, twins, and of course special needs. From the five s's for newborns, to helping teach babies to crawl and walk, to potty training, language and skills development, to helping with homework; I bring vast experience that simply comes out in day to day interactions Read more with the children in my care. I love a Montessori type approach and Reggio Emilia where I more follow the child's own natural wonder in the world and further develop their own joys naturally through the day. I love the arts, singing and nature and help the children explore these aspects of themselves while bringing in more traditional subject matter when and where they are developmentally appropriate. I am also versed in Somatic experiencing and am currently in an online therapist training. I bring these skills and passions with me into my nanny work as well. A child's happiness, joy and laughter are the greatest gifts.
