Hi! My name is Emma. I recently moved to Raleigh from Saint Louis, Missouri. I'm 22, and will soon be starting my junior year at NC State to obtain a linguistics degree. After I graduate, I plan to work towards a PhD in either sociolinguistics or speech pathology. I have four years of experience nannying part-time during the school year, and full time in the summer. In addition to childcare, I also privately tutored a middle school student daily for three years, raising her failing grades to consistent As, increasing her math placement scores from several grade levels behind to several ahead. My love for children was passed down by my beautiful and compassionate mother, who is a retired preschool teacher. She has been the most incredible resource, from lesson plans to mealtime tricks. This hobby has taught me how to think dynamically, along with teaching me patience- it takes 3-12 hours to make a single bracelet! In the past, I have loved bringing larger beads and other age-appropriate art materials along on childcare jobs to share with kids who are interested, which helps them develop creative thinking and fine motor skills. I am first aid and CPR certified, drive a Subaru Forester, and can take care of any reasonable housekeeping and pet care. I hope to hear from you soon! ☺
