Hey parents! If I've applied to your job that means your needs most likely match up with what I'm looking for(job, hours, distance, days/time wise with my current jobs). I make sure to look at everything before applying. To tell you a little bit about myself, have 12 years of professional experience. Personality wise, I've been described as being extremely animated(theatre class helped😄), upbeat, giving, patient, loving(bear hug expert), always having colorful/ fun hair & clothes, as well as a baby/ kid magnet(even the most stubborn kiddos seem to be drawn to me🥰). Majority of my experience is with toddlers/ babies, although I've cared for all ages & have even done some senior care in the past. I take pride in my ability to teach my littles how to do basic sign language(before they're even able to talk) & working with them on perfecting their annunciation as they learn new words(previously have worked with speech therapists assisting the littles). There's never a problem when it comes to potty training, doing arts/crafts project, animated story telling for bedtime, snack/meal making, diaper changing, homework help, speech therapy(for the toddlers & kids that need a little extra help), fort making, video/board game playing(I let them win sometimes;), nerf wars(child tactical skills), baby shark dancing, and so much more. I call myself a "firm but fun nanny". I like to have a blast with them as long as rules are being followed. TV/tablet/cell phone use is usually limited around me as to try & limit their dependency on technology and focus more on physical/ mental growth(unless they're being used as tools to help me teach). Hello my name is Tammy Surrine My care and interest in teaching children began with my own 30 years ago and extended shortly thereafter as a nanny. In 1991 two young boys lost their mother to cancer and the fragile father needed help, and so I did. I have lived in Orlando Florida since 1992. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible and Theology from Faith Christian University in Orlando Florida. I am a Licensed Cosmologist, Nationally Certified Phlebotomist, trained EKG Technician, and I am certified in CPR, First Aid with AED. I have both a Staff and Director’s Credential in Early Childhood Education from the State of Florida. I have taught Preschool for 8 years for children ages infant to age 3. I also taught 1 year of VPK for children ages 4 through 5. I have managed, assisted and trained early childhood educators. I love and enjoy children, and I believe they should be loved, kept safe and allowed to learn, grow and be happy!

Hey! I’m Juliana and go to UNCW as a sophomore. I love working with kids through volunteering, babysitting, and ministry. I even worked this past summer as a camp counselor and LOVED it. I have been caring for children in some capacity my entire adult life and decided to make it my career about 10 years ago because I wanted to make my own happiness my goal in life. And being around the infectious joy of children seemed like the perfect place to do that. I’ve worked as a nanny and also in a daycare classroom but far prefer private childcare setting. Daycare classrooms make it so hard to meet the needs of the individual. I maintain CPR and first AID certifications as well as safe sleep, SIDS and prevention of maltreatment of children. I believe in a gentle disciple approach and that children can be given firm boundaries and consistent correction without ever having to be hit or using harsh discipline. We learn through play in the environment around us. And I believe in building confidence in kids through letting them explore their own mistakes in a safe space, helping them learn through them. Our mantra is “messes happen! No big deal!” While we clean up and try again. I also grew up here in Moore County and am choosing to raise my own son here as well.
