Hello! My name is Ms Kia and teaching is my passion. I began working with children as a teenager when I got my first job at a daycare center. I spent a few years there working with preschoolers before moving on to head the youth department at my church for several years. My position there was to create and implement Sunday school and summer day camp curriculum complete with homework help and field trips. In 2009, I began homeschooling my own children who were, then, 5th and 8th grades. They have both since graduated homeschool and college and are working in their chosen fields but I found myself missing teaching. So in 2014, I began my tutoring and homeschooling business (Education By Design) and have done that since. The pandemic has certainly changed they way that looks a bit but I'm still thoroughly enjoying educating young minds. I try to Read more impress upon all children that learning can be fun and include lots of interactive and hands on lessons. My specialty is meeting them where they are and creating a customized curriculum tailored specifically to their needs.
