I am a 18 year old UNL college student looking for work! I am an only child with two pets, a cat and a dog. I have babysat for family friends in the past ( ages 5-7) and I also have child care/interaction experience from my job at the YMCA. I am a lifeguard/swim instructor, I interact and watch over kids on a daily basis. Often times parents will leave their kids at the Y and not come back until we close, I make sure to interact with the kids to help ensure they feel like their in a safe and fun environment. I have made many friends with the kids who come consistently, I make an effort to learn their names as well as make sure their staying safe in the pool area to avoid injury. As a swim instructor I have taught adolecence aging from 6 months to Read more 12 years of age. I build strong relationships and strive to ensure that they are understanding what is being taught. I also communicate with their guardians so that they may understand what is going on in class and what they can work on so that their child will succeed. There have been a few instances where I have had parents unenroll from group lessons and request me to teach their child in private one-on-one lessons. I have also volunteered at camp Kitaki, a camp in the forest where kids go through mind building activities for a week, I worked one whole summer week with kids who had special needs and kids who didn't. I helped the cabin counselor I was assigned to watch over the kids and make sure they stayed safe (girls aging 7-9). I enjoy working with children, they bring out the best in the smallest of things and they help me see the world in a brighter light.
