I always knew growing up I wanted to do something with kids, there's just something about their innocence. Although my B.A. is in Psychology, I minored in Education at UNH in Manchester, NH. My senior year of college I was working at the mall as one of Santa's Helpers (my first job where I really started interacting with children). One of the customers came up to me and asked if I was looking or a job, long story short, she became my boss at the first daycare I worked at in Salem, NH. I worked at this center for just under a year, I loved it, working with all different age groups ranging from infants to kindergarten, playing outside, making crafts, and reading stories, while also, changing diapers, prepping lunches, and kissing boo-boo's. One of my cousins ended up needing a nanny for her two girls, and knowing that I Read more already loved the girls because they were family, she insisted I took the job. I left my job at the center and ended up nannying for just under two years. I took the girls to the library for all different activities, picked them up and dropped them off at school, took the to the park, to the lake, to the aquarium, to the museum, to the pool. On rainy days, we'd watch thunderstorms from the window, do puzzles, play games, read stories, and do all kinds of arts and crafts! Unfortunately, the girls had to grow up and go to school full time, which led me searching for yet another job. Looking at what I knew, I got another job in a center, currently I work in the toddler room with kids aged 2-3 years. I love it, and it's very rewarding, I've now been there for about 7 years, unfortunately, they pay in the field is not always the best so I'm just trying to make some extra money too.
