My name is Vanessa K. and I'm 18 years old currently attending Regis college in Weston, MA. My caregiving experience started when I was about 12 years old as a mothers helper and I've enjoyed every time I've had with kids since. My job as a mothers helper started with a family friend and her 4 boys (all under 10 at the time). When I was about 14 I started caring for her children and watching them when she had to run errands, or attend one of their sporting events. Since then I have worked as a summer care day-time babysitter for 2 children (8, 10), an occasional date night sitter for 3 boys (~6, ~8, ~11), and as a day-camp counselor working with multiple age groups and learning styles. I find myself to be a relatively creative person who loves the outdoors and coming up with fun games in or outside. One of my biggest takeaways throughout my years and experience babysitting has been that children need their space just as much as us adults do. Weather that be playing by themselves or taking a time away from toys, they can be easily overloaded with excitement or stress and it best when you can read when they may need a break.
