I became an early childhood educator because I want to leave the world better than I found it. More often than not, children are my best teachers because of how vulnerable, emotional and honest they are. I started working as a nanny in 2013 while I was taking classes at Middlesex Community College, and knew then that I wanted to work with primarily with young children. While earning my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Care at Bridgewater State University I discovered and became passionate about mindfulness. Mindfulness is “focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations”. I have developed and implemented mindfulness curriculum, teaching infants, toddlers and preschoolers at The Children's Center at Groton, Concord and Newton Montessori Schools. My goal is to use mindfulness to raise more compassionate and empathetic people. I am currently continuing to work Read more towards these goals as a part-time graduate student studying Community Arts & Education at Lesley University. I am looking for reliable and consistent hours (very flexible) to work with a family that thinks I might fit well with them!
