Hello Families! My name is Sarah and I am available to provide childcare in the late afternoons and early evenings, during Massachusetts school vacation weeks, and occasional weekends. I will also be available during the summer months. I am an early childhood educator, with more than 30 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. I currently work in a public school as an integrated preschool teacher, where I teach a multi-age, diverse learner class of students between 3 and 5 years old. I have worked as a babysitter/nanny, teacher in group child care settings, as well as serving as a teacher in public school in grades Pre-K, kindergarten, and first. I am the mother of two children, ages 16 and 19, and the oldest of 7 children in my family. I love teaching and providing children with opportunities to learn and grow through play and exploration. Read more I love outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, books, and games. I am willing to drive children to and from activities and take them to places such as the library, playgrounds, or on adventures to the zoo or museums. As a public school teacher, I have undergone background checks and fingerprinting. I have been trained in first aid and CPR, although my certifications need to be renewed. I am familiar with allergy awareness and use of an Epi-Pen, both through school training and because my own son has food allergies. Safety is a top priority. I have training and experience in working with children with special needs. I am flexible, organized, patient, caring, mature, responsible, and fun! I believe strongly in limiting screen time, reading books, and playing in the great outdoors. Fostering imagination, creativity, problem solving, and learning through play are all important to me as a care provider, teacher, and parent. I look forward to meeting you and your children and hope to help you with your childcare needs.

Sarah was a huge help when I needed last minute care for my 4-year old. They were outside practically all day playing everything imaginable! My son had a great time with her (and took a long nap in the afternoon as a result). Sarah is kind, trustworthy, responsible, and a true professional. I will definitely call on her again when I need care.
