I am the oldest girl of eight cousins in a tight knit family, so in a sense I have been in the child care field since I was old enough to be left alone with kids (in my family that age was seven). However my official career in child care didn't start until I was hired at The Works Family Health and Fitness Center, at the age of 16. I started there to gain experience, and going on six years later I still am. My job title started off as WSI (water safety instructor) and lifeguard. That changed quickly to WSI, lifeguard, and camp counselor. This happened when the programs manager caught wind of my passion for teaching and working with children. Over the course of the next few years the job titles continued to expand into party planner, nursery caregiver, gym supervisor and fit spot supervisor.
