I have always loved children and have been babysitting since I was 14 years old (I am now 26). Not to toot my own horn, but, I am the most fun babysitter your child will ever have. When I was younger my 1st sitter wouldn't let us play - she made us sit & watch movies - when I finally got a sitter who actually played with us I was SO HAPPY. My goal is to help your child learn while providing him/her with the most fun they can handle! I have experience with all ages and all types of children: infants to adolescents including special education. I also tutor in most subjects, my specialty is Communications, Reading and Language Arts, and Art therapy. During the school year I travel and speak to all ages about Mental Health and Social Issues, so I am very comfortable taking command of large Read more groups of kids. I am the Volunteer Coordinator for our largest fundraising event of the year Camp Evans Base of Terror (Haunted Maze for charity) and manage over 100 volunteers. Things get pretty hectic during the fundraiser so I have to organize and keep the children calm and entertained for hours before we open. The ages of the volunteers range from 10-19 yrs old. I am also an Artist and Makeup Artist, I do creative art workshops with kids at The Inkwell Coffeehouse, so when I babysit I usually bring craft supplies so that we can have some creative fun! If the kids aren't into getting crafty and prefer sports I am always up for a water gun fight or to play whatever games they enjoy. On the side I face paint for parties and worked for a children’s party company (Party Central) for a few years (until they decided to close). During these parties we would bring in games and blow up rides (bouncy house, gigantic slip-n-slides) and do activities with the kids. I’m upbeat and fun loving, but I have no problem laying down the line when it comes to enforcing rules like homework or bed time. I do not put up with whining or disobedience, but can work with difficult children and usually win them over. P.S. Will happily get a background but tight on money at the moment (paying back student loans). I have gotten a background check for my job already because I am always going into schools but I'm not sure how to get that onto this profile.
