I have been doing child care for a number of years, starting as a local and a hotel babysitter while living on the West Coast of Ireland. I care for pets as well. Occasional babysitting or pet care work is of the most interest to me currently, although a part time afternoon/evening schedule may also work. I enjoy engaging children with crafts, games, reading and conversation about their lives and interests, spending time outside whenever possible, and have a special place in my heart for young children- I love watching them experience everything they see as exciting and new. I am empathetic, patient and reliable. I work with children from toddlers up to the teen age group. I am an artist involved in floral design work outside my work with children. I enjoy swimming, reading, photography, and singing (sometimes with or for kids). I have an excellent knowledge of first Read more aid (though thankfully have rarely had to use it) gained through being raised by a school nurse, and reinforced with a workplace red cross training course. Not long ago, Sitter City changed background check providers, necessitating that sitters pay for background checks twice as often. After being successfully background checked through Sitter City for a number of years, I now get my background check through another site and will be happy to share it with you.
